SASM 4130: The Business of Baseball
This course provided students the opportunity to explore the managerial aspects of operating a baseball team, facility and event with the community-owned, student-operated Southern Ohio Copperheads in Athens, Ohio. It combined classroom instruction with hands-on service learning on how to operate a summer collegiate baseball team. The course focused on 501(c)3 non-profit operations as a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
Through this class, I pitched and solidified a season-long sponsorship with Plants fitness of Athens. This was a +$3,000 deal that allowed the players to use the gym in exchange for promotion at the ballpark and during games.

Students practiced confronting ethical conflicts and making ethical decisions through analyzing real world case studies.
Below is a code of ethics I designed and created to use as a guide for my future career. Ethical standards are an important part of a successful career, so I plan to use these standards throughout the rest of my career. Click on the image to view the full set of codes!

JOUR 4860: Advertising and Public Relations Capstone
JOUR 4860 (Capstone)
This course focused on providing a campaign development experience. Developing an advertising or public relations campaign synthesizes research, writing and production skills, as well as critical and creative thinking, and theory application. Students partnered with a client to produce the advertising or public relations campaign.
For this class, my group and I made a full campaign presentation and correlating written guide for our client, Cheap Caribbean. I also made a follow-up pitch letter and press release. (These pieces are not linked due to confidential material)
Below is an example of a campaign extension I created based on a Super Bowl Dunkin Donuts commercial. Click on it to view the full extension.
